We're redefining what dessert can be!

Yoga-urt is an original soft serve store that offers a healthier soft serve / frozen yogurt made fresh daily in our stores in Glendale (opened in 2015), Echo Park (opened in 2019),  Santa Monica (opened in 2021), and our first Franchise Store in Granada Hills (opened in 2024).

Our flavors are made from scratch, starting with hand squeezed almond milk with all organic and dairy free ingredients and added probiotics. All original, all natural, and all delicious! Plus we are eco friendly with all compostable paper goods!

Yoga-urt offers over 30 handcrafted small batch rotating flavors including Chocolate Bliss, Salted Caramel Zen and Peanut Butter Prana, a toppings bar with healthy or indulgent options, organic smoothies including green and paleo options, kombucha floats, banana splits, shakes, pints to go, and more. And our cookies for our ice cream sammies and our pie crust for our pie slices are made from the leftover almond pulp/flour from our soft serve!

Plus coffee from LA’s popular sustainable purveyor Groundwork, and tea from The Art of Tea.

Yoga-urt’s delicious handcrafted, ‘fresh from scratch’ fare is made with organic premium ingredients, and contains no artificial flavors, sweeteners or preservatives. And you wouldn't know it was dairy free if we didn't tell you!

All of the Yoga-urt soft serve is unbelievably rich and creamy and contains four strains of live probiotics added for digestive and immune health. And for those who like their Yoga-urt in a cone – these too are handcrafted from scratch, vegan and gluten-free.

Yoga-urt was founded by LA based project manager Melissa Schulman after the concept took hold of her during what she called her “Yoga Bubble Year.” This was a year she took off from her career and immersed herself in her yoga practice by taking classes, doing a teacher training course, going on retreats, working in a yoga studio and more.

It was during lunch with her cousin that her curiosity was peaked and she couldn’t let go of the concept of an upscale yogurt bar serving a healthier soft serve, smoothies, coffee, and tea with a peaceful ambiance. A place for community, a place to relax with friends and family, a place to nourish yourself.

Melissa always knew that she wanted to have dairy-free options that weren’t sorbets, and weren’t made with soy, but were organic, healthy, and yummy. In 2014, she put a team together to begin soft serve R&D. The Yoga-urt team very carefully selected all of the ingredients used in their dairy-free organic product, including the “made from scratch” almond milk that is the basis for most of their products.

Today, Melissa’s dream has come true. She is proud to serve LA’s foodies and dessert lovers a delicious, healthy, non-dairy soft serve treat at our Glendale, Echo Park, Santa Monica, & Granada Hills locations.
